The NBA 2021 free agency was fascinating as once average teams are now included in championship talks due to the strength of their signings. The LA Lakers and Miami Heat have been the busiest this off-season, making outstanding signings that will increase their chances of winning the 2022 NBA Finals.
Although the Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns have proven that it doesn't take a super team to win a championship or advance to the NBA finals, the teams have replenished their roster with elite talent. The NBA 2021 Free Agency was filled with championship-caliber players, most of whom have now been signed.
With the free NBA's moratorium lifted today, some of the verbal agreements between teams and players are official. While players or teams could get out of the deal, it is unlikely that we would experience it.
Now that most of the teams have achieved their goals in the free NBA agency, it will be exciting to see how these additions will affect the game. No doubt the power rankings will have a different outlook at the start of the new season.
With that in mind, let's take a look at the top five NBA signings that will prove to be effective in the 2021-22 season.
# 5 Patty Mills – Brooklyn Nets
Patty Mills joined the Brooklyn Nets in what could be considered one of the least underrated NBA Free Agency signings. His inclusion in the super team of the Nets, however, would increase their championship hopes significantly.
Patty Mills is an incredibly explosive and destructive force who is less than 6 feet tall. What a great win for the Nets.

One area the Brooklyn Nets struggled in during the 2021 NBA playoffs was production outside of their big three. Landry Shamet, who had a decent run during the regular season, was unsuccessful in the short amount of time he had on the court.
With Mills on the list, the Nets are greatly supported by the second entity. His previous performance at the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo also strengthened his profile in the independent NBA agency.
# 4 DeMar DeRozan – Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls could qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2017, considering how well they have done so far in the 2021 NBA Free Agency. Their signings could position the team for a playoff run in 2022.
DeMar DeRozan and Lonzo Ball were acquired through Sign-and-Trade, both of which will take the gates of Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic. Alex Caruso is also a great addition to the Bulls as he was part of the LA Lakers defensive core. The Bulls are sure to be winners of the 2021 NBA Free Agency.
DeRozan was San Antonio's top scorer, leading the team with 21.6 points and 6.9 assists per game. We should expect a very effective offensive from the Chicago Bulls in the 2021/22 NBA season.
